 The thawte Web of Trust (WOT) was devised by thawte to promote a culture of trust. It is a Certification system that allows your identity to be validated for use in your Personal Certificate. This is done through approaching a recognized thawte Notary who, on being shown the relevant proof, will validate your ID. You, in turn, can then become a thawte Notary yourself, and begin validating others' identities.
With a free Thawte certificate, you will be able to sign your e-mails so your recipients will be assured of your identity. Once you reach 50 points, you will have a certificate to encrypt your e-mails. You will send your public decrypting key to your trusted recipient and you will then be able to send encrypted messages to your clients. This is extremely important when you are sending sensitive material as confidential contracts or other documents containing confidential information as social security or credit card numbers.
To accumulate points, you first must sign up for a free Thawte Certificate, then contact as many Notaries that you need to reach your 50 points. You will need to meet with the Notary and provide original forms of identifications. A notary can give you between 10 and 35 points. We are able to give you 20 points. Please,
